Which ACs use R-32?

Most inverter ACs launched after 2020 in Pakistan use R-32. Check your outdoor unit's nameplate for the refrigerant type. R-32 units will explicitly state R-32. The older R-410A units are still common, especially in ACs bought before 2020. Never mix R-32 and R-410A as they are not compatible and the blended refrigerant will damage the compressor.

Why R-32 needs specialist handling

R-32 is mildly flammable and must not be handled near open flames, sparks, or high heat sources. Recovery cylinders must be R-32 rated. The vacuum and charging procedure is similar to R-410A but R-32 must be charged as a liquid (not vapour) from the cylinder. Tools that contact R-32 must be R-32 rated and kept separate from R-410A tools to prevent cross-contamination.
